Trophy & Sixth Gold Medal for Heathcote Shiraz!- New Zealand Top 100 International Wine Companion
Hanging Rock Heathcote Shiraz 2000 has added a Trophy & Sixth Gold Medal to its impressive record of accolades - this time at New Zealand's leading Show - The Liquorland Top 100 International Wine Competition. Competing in good company, the 2000 Hanging Rock Heathcote was chosen by the NZ judges as the Champion of the 11 Gold Medal winners in the Shiraz class. “These International accolades are a wonderful reward for all the time, money and hard work that goes into making these super-premium red wines. Our vineyards at Heathcote provide us superb fruit to work with, and that’s more than half the battle. A Trophy and 6 Gold Medals really justifies our decision to invest in steam-bent American oak and Defranceschi automatic fermenters”, enthused Hanging Rock Winemaker and CEO John Ellis, upon hearing of the awards. Since its release in April this year, the 2000 vintage of Hanging Rock Heathcote Shiraz has won Gold Medals at the Winpac International Wine Show in Hong Kong, The Royal Queensland Wine Show, the Cowra Wine Show, 2 Gold at the Ballarat Wine Show and, of course the aforementioned New Zealand medal and Trophy. For the ten vintages of Heathcote Shiraz produced by Hanging Rock since 1987, the scoreboard reads - 43 Gold Medals and 3 trophies. John Ellis must be doing something right.
