Hanging Rock 'The Jim Jim' Riesling RS50- Adelaide Review- Nick Stock
A long-standing commitment to producing a Bollinger-inspired sparkling has taken centre stage at Hanging Rock, but increasingly it’s the aromatic whites off the home block Jim Jim Vineyard that deeply impress.
John Ellis has reached another milestone with this, his first Jim Jim riesling, made in a delicious off-dry style. RS 50 refers to the sweetness of the wine (50 grams per litre) and it’s an almost compulsory inclusion for this super cool site and its searing acidity.
Pristine aromas of apple and fresh lime juice, some fragrant stony lift too. The palate is cut to a fine edge, sugar keeps acidity under wraps, finishing long, delicious and fresh.
