The Bower Girl - Kerry Cannon

The Bower Girl

The Bower Girl consists of 3 parts: the two sides of the bower and the sleeping nude girl. The bower was made from small diameter pieces of wood held together by string and wax that were cast in bronze. Two symbols were woven into the bowers - the Nordic rune for sleep and the more modern Z symbol of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The two sides of the bower meet at the top and form an arc around the girl. No vulnerable adolescent females were exploited in the making of the girl. As a result, she is a bit naive in proportions. I tried to make her sensual and menacing at the same time. When she awakes, the enchantment ends and those affected will be as before.
