Talisman - Darren McGinn

Cairns have been and are used for a broad variety of purposes, from prehistoric times to the present. In modern times cairns are often erected as landmarks, a use they have had since ancient times. Since prehistory, they have also been built and used as burial monuments; for defense and hunting; for ceremonial purposes, sometimes relating to astronomy; to locate buried items.

Darren McGinn

Dr Darren McGinn has exhibited widely in solo and group exhibitions. He completed his PhD in 2011 (Fine Art & Design) at the university of Tasmania, researching many issues of maritime concern and has worked for many years as a lecturer in Visual Art at various institutions. McGinn has been the recipient of a number of awards in national exhibitions. 

In 2013, Darren established StudioMade, in Geelong, a ceramics studio, a gallery and event space.
