Heathcote Shiraz  2008

Heathcote Wine Region, in Central Victoria, has a rapidly growing reputation as a great place to grow Shiraz. The region features a deep strip of rare, ancient, red Cambrian soil with excellent moisture retention characteristic virtually eliminating the need for irrigation. It is this red soil that gives Heathcote Shiraz its distinctive character.

The combination of low rainfall, hot summers and the red Cambrian soil creates a challenging environment in which the Shiraz vines thrive, albeit producing low yields and small berries with intense flavours.

Halliday's 2007 Wine Companion 5 Stars - 95 Points - "Glorious colour; big. rich, condensed fruit and ample tannins; floods the mouth with flavour.

Cambrian Rise Heathcote Shiraz  2009

Affectionately dubbed ‘Son of Heathcote’ by our winemaking team, Cambrian Rise is a fine example of Heathcote Shiraz. Our long involvement with the Heathcote region (since 1987) brings a thorough understanding of the way it behaves in differing vintage conditions, as well as the micro-climatic variations that naturally occur in this north-south aligned region.

Yin Barun Merlot Cabernet Franc  2004

Soft, smooth plum-fruit characters so typically Merlot, are enhanced in the company of Cabernet Franc which gives the palate a lifted fragrance and an edge to the finish.  A truly wonderful food wine.

Jim Jim Pinot Noir  2008

We are very proud to announce our first ever estate grown Pinot Noir. We are so proud of the result that we have planted some early ripening Pinot Noir especially to make sure this wine has a future regardless of the weather.

Kilfara Pinot Noir  2008

Kilfara Pinot Noir is made using traditional methods, and fruit from  cool Victorian vineyards. This year, the grapes are from the Norris vineyard at Faraday in the Bendigo region. A medium bodied wine with intense varietal character and excellent palate structure. Tannins are soft and round but clearly evident.

ODD ONE OUT Cabernets   2008

This lovely textured, full-flavored wine has balanced fruit character, acid and subtle tannin dryness, all persisting through a long, lingering finish.

This is a food lovers wine, perfect with full flavoured and robust meat based dishes.

Rich Reef Shiraz  2007

The Hanging Rock Winery sources grapes from many parts of Victoria and southern New South Wales. Many of the vineyards are in areas that were the focus of the gold rush of the mid to late 19th century. ‘Rich Reef’ refers to the quartz reefs which were used to track gold deposits in mines.

Bendigo Cabernet Sauvignon  2008

A bright and vibrant nose with hints of fresh ripe blueberries,
eucalypt and cloves. A ripe, luscious wine which is both round and textured with a gravely tannin structure which opens in the glass. The ripe berry flavours
compliment the acid and tannin backbone of the wine.

ROCK Shiraz blend  2008

Rock Shiraz blend is a wine designed for today’s palate - full flavoured but a little lighter in weight than many Shiraz based blends.

It’s made with style, from approximately 60% Shiraz, blended with approximately 15% of Grenache, 14% Mourvèdre and 11% Pinot Noir.
