Best Pinot Noir in Australia!
Wine Hunters have posted their latest article - their 2017 Red Wines of the Year. And they believe we make the BEST Pinot Noir in Australia.
Thanks boys, we appreciate it!
WINE HUNTERS 2017 WINES OF THE YEAR - RED
We don't take naming the "Wines of the Year" lightly. While we tasted thousands of wines this year (can you believe it? - literally thousands), there were tens of thousands more we didn't get to. The list below are wines of the utmost distinction and the best we had in 2017 - of the wines we got to.
If there is a lesson we take from drawing this list up, it is that when you find a wine you love, you shouldn't hesitate in buying up several bottles. Too many of these fine wines are already gone, and we sharply regret we shall never enjoy them again.
PINOT NOIR - Though living in the long shadow of Shiraz, Pinot Noir exceptionally well in Australia. One would think that with so many to choose from, our list would be longer. But these two Victorian Pinots shone so far above the rest, we felt they deserved the category to themselves.
* Hanging Rock Winery 2013 Jim Jim Pinot Noir - THE BEST AUS PINOT WE HAVE EVER TASTED. A silken muse - Framed by engaging light pepper, earthiness, and inviting shades of black cherry, could not be smoother. The elegance you expect from a great Pinot, but this wine shines like a star beyond. Soul soothing. Ultimately satisfying. We'd kill for more. $35
