Heathcote Shiraz 2015 review by Campbell Mattinson on the WineFront
It’s one of the heavy hitters of the Victorian shiraz landscape, though it probably doesn’t have the prominence it once enjoyed.
It’s at the super ripe end of the spectrum. It tastes of dark chocolate and sweet plum, bitumen and coffee grounds. Vanillin oak slides throughout as well. It’s almost porty with alcohol warmth but sandalwood notes and the softness of the texture keep the impression in more seductive territory. One thing that cannot be denied: the concentration of flavour here is right up there. Talk about rich. Obviously you have to like the style but it’s a very good version of it.
