Hanging Rock 'The Jim Jim' Sauvignon Blanc 2007 - Reviewed by Eat & Drink
At the end of a tasting of SB with loads of overt tropical, grassy and sweaty characters this Macedon wine showed a completley differnt face.
More restrained, but still showing lovely citrus and passionfruit perfumes, there was a minerality and refinement that placed it apart from the others. The palate shows balance of fruit and acidity and clean mineral finish.
The surprise was - leaving the wines for drinks for friends after - it was the popular vote by a fair margin.
