Art in the Vines at Hanging Rock Winery - An exhibition of sculpture, is the first of its kind to be held in the Macedon Ranges.
Visit our winery from 10th November 2018 to 31st March 2019, and wander through a trail of discovery, exploring 25 hand-crafted works of art.
Leading local, national and international sculptors have signed up to participate, some of whom have their pieces on display at the likes of The Met Museum in New York, The National Gallery of Australia, The National Gallery of Victoria and many other prominent spaces around the world and Australia.
Varying in scale, material and story, a majority of the sculptures have either been or are being created in artist studios dotted throughout our region or hand-crafted onsite by one of our renowned artists-in-residence.
And this is where Art in the Vines sets itself apart, because we’ve engaged sculptors Andreas Buisman (Austria), Anton Hassell (Macedon Ranges) and Brigit Heller (Macedon Ranges) to physically create their pieces at the winery.
This will give visitors unprecedented access to meet with one of the artists, and will also present an opportunity to attend a workshop with these sculptors or perhaps a painting workshop with renowned local painter Helen Cottle or Arthur Ted Powell.
With the backdrop of our vineyard, Hanging Rock and Mount Macedon providing an unparalleled setting, this is an exhibition and winery experience like no other.
Entry to the exhibition is free and we’re open 7 days a week (except Christmas day) from 10am to 5pm.
To learn more about the sculpture exhibition and the workshops, sign up to our wine club to receive emails with information as it becomes available or like us on facebook.
Why not help us celebrate the launch of the exhibition at our Opening Day Long Lunch on Saturday, 10 November 2018? Our long lunch table will be set amongst the sculptures, where you will be treated to a 3 course meal matched with our wines.
