Tasting Note: Don't expect a tropical, sweaty New Zealand style. The cool vineyard and the Bordeaux clones planted there, as well as a portion fermented in French oak, have put paid to that. This reminds me of better sauvignon-dominant white Bordeaux - mineral, citrus, a subtle nuttiness, and high acid - and that works for me. And it should benefit from some bottle age. February 2009 |
