A HANGING Rock stud has claimed three major awards in the Speckle Park competition at the Royal Melbourne Show, including for the supreme exhibit.

Speckle Park judge Tom Baker, Millicent, South Australia, said both the Hanging Rock Speckle Park stud bull and female were hard to fault.

"The female was beautifully made through the front end, moves well and it's very hard to pull a heifer like that apart," he said.

"The young bull again is very similar and he's got that front end we like to see, he's got the length of body we like to see and he's extremely well balanced

"He moves exceptionally well and he's got that lovely balance of bone to muscle ratio as well."

Hanging Rock Speckle Park manager Daniel Porter said the wins reaffirmed the stud's breeding program.

"He's only a baby fella," he said.

"He's got a lot of growth for age and has a lot of eye muscle which is a real bonus for these little bull calves because that's something that's lacking in the Speckle area at the moment," he said.

"For the bull we hope to send him to a few other shows including Sydney and we'll see how he goes.

"We've had him at a few shows before but it was his first Melbourne Show so we were pretty happy with the result."
