Access and Inclusion at Hanging Rock Winery

Access and Inclusion at Hanging Rock Winery

At Hanging Rock Winery, we want all visitors to feel welcome and to have clear information to help plan their visit.

Parking and Arrival

There is ample free parking close to our Cellar Door. While we do not currently have designated accessible parking spaces, parking is generally available within a short distance of the entrance.

A compacted gravel pathway leads from the car park to the Cellar Door, with ramp access into the building.

For visitors with limited mobility, drop-off directly at the Cellar Door may also be possible. We ask that you call the winery before your visit so our team can discuss the best way to access the entrance safely and comfortably.

Cellar Door

Our Cellar Door is accessible via a ramp from the car park.

Wine tastings are free, so there are no additional tasting charges or special arrangements required for carers or support people accompanying a visitor.

Our team is always happy to assist where we can, and we encourage visitors with particular accessibility requirements to contact us before arriving.

Grounds, Marquee and Art in the Vines

Hanging Rock Winery is set across approximately three acres of lawn, which is also home to our Art in the Vines outdoor sculpture exhibition.

The marquee and sculptures can only be accessed by travelling across grass. There are no stairs to enter the marquee, however there is no paved or gravel pathway connecting it to the Cellar Door.

The grassed areas are natural and may be uneven, soft or more difficult to navigate following wet weather. This may present challenges for visitors using wheelchairs, walking frames or other mobility aids.

Visitors are welcome to contact us before their visit to discuss current ground conditions and which areas may be most suitable to access.

Assistance Dogs

Assistance dogs are very welcome in our Cellar Door and throughout the winery grounds.

Please be aware that Hanging Rock Winery is also home to winery dogs, which may be off lead on the property. If this may affect your visit, please let our team know in advance so we can discuss suitable arrangements.

Toilets

Please be aware that Hanging Rock Winery does not currently have an accessible toilet.

Hearing and Vision

We do not currently have specific hearing or vision accessibility aids available.

If you have particular requirements, please contact us before your visit and our team will do their best to assist where practical.

Sensory Considerations

The winery is generally quieter during the week, particularly before midday. Visitors who prefer a lower-stimulation environment may find these times more comfortable, and the tasting room is often very quiet or may have only a small number of other visitors.

Please feel welcome to contact us before your visit if you would like advice on choosing a quieter time.

Planning Your Visit

Accessibility needs vary from person to person, and we want visitors to have enough information to decide what will work best for them.

If you have questions about access or would like to discuss your visit in advance, please contact our team on (03) 5427 0542 or hello@hangingrock.com.au.

We will always do our best to provide clear information and practical assistance where possible.
