Incarnation

Incarnation - Fredrick White

A Melbourne based sculptor who has been producing work since 1985. Mostly showing large scale works in outdoor sculpture shows, art that explores complex themes about connection and mortality. Forces and energies that cannot be seen, but are often sensed. The forms are understood through their connection to the ground a literal physical one that is clearly evident in my Hanging Rock Winery exhibition ‘incarnation’. This hovering ‘spirit’ shape is tethered to the earth, an attachment to be life passed or a rising humanoid flame, born of the planet itself, cocoon like in shape to symbolize a critical time of flux and transformation for humanity, a totem for removing the language barrier between nature and us.

A bachelor in Fine Art (sculpture) from Victorian College Prahran 1986-88 and a honors degree from RMIT 1999. In 2013 he won the Montalto Winery Sculpture Prize. In 2007 he created a 5m high commission ‘from Life To Life’ in Bridgetown Western Australia.

In 2010 he made two large Public sculptures in Thargamingals and Blackall both in Western Australia.

Medium: Steel, polystyrene, concrete, render

Price: $16,000
