Kern - Al Phemister

During my recent travels in Cornwall, UK, I was mesmerized by the circles of ancient stone forms still resilient in the modern world. The timeless and endless natures of these natural but deliberate forms are reflected in my most recent work, Kern. I wanted to create a series of forms that explores the endless circle like that of Men-an-toll in the Cornish countryside. Instead of stone I worked with metal to reflect the seams of minerals mined for tin production in the Cornish hillsides. I want others to feel some of that ancient mystery of circles and hope that my work also finds its place sentinel in the countryside or spaces, while speaking quietly and gently.
